How did I get here?

Like most kids, I grew up playing with toy cars, spending hours lining them up in perfect rows or carefully parking them in my trusty toy garage. While my parking skills have thankfully improved since 1991, I can’t say the same for my fashion sense. As I got a little older, weekends meant trips to local car shows. I’d marvel at the latest Austins and Fords - and, on a good day, maybe even something German or Japanese. All whilst my Dad trundled after me with his trusty camcorder.

My teenage years were spent tearing through Fast Car or Max Power magazines, whilst setting lap records on Gran Turismo, and tuning my favourite cars in Need For Speed. Video games played a huge part in my childhood and really forged who I am and what I do today, but I don’t think I realized at the time how much of a passion I had for cars.

The first time I picked up a proper camera was in 2015 - it was a moment of panic and excitement. I really had no idea what I was doing so i’d spend countless hours researching and practicing. I’d walk the local area for street photography, and I’d take the camera with me on days out with the wife and kids - really trying to capture those memories as perfectly as I remember them.

When the world pretty much ground to a halt in 2020 I decided to take the hobby up a notch. I took a leap of faith, invested in myself, and after more practice, I found my niche. I found the kind of photography that I really, really enjoyed. Cars.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunities to work closely with huge global brands like BMW and Mini, spent two and half years living in Toronto, Canada, immersing myself in their local car culture, moved back to Lincoln, UK, and I’ve been lucky enough to have met some incredible people along the way.
